It’s all to do with moving out of our comfort zones…
If you had told me a year ago I would be going to a gym and have a Personal Trainer, I would have laughed! I had never set foot in a gym, and had no intention to. Exercise is ‘not my thing’….
However, an issue with my back (from spending hours on the computer) combined with having to pay for gym membership for my boys to have swimming lessons made me dip my toe in the water….
It’s been an interesting 9 months. Do I enjoy it? Probably not the word I would use! Have I learnt a lot about myself, yes. As someone with ADHD whose brain goes at 100 miles an hour, it actually makes me stop thinking about everything else and focus on what I’m trying to do. I quickly learnt that I was better with classes as there was someone to guide me, encourage me and keep me focused. When left to my own devices in the gym I would do my own thing, wander off track, or not really push myself (maybe due to fear of getting it wrong)… hence where the PT has come in, to guide me, keep me focussed and help me get results.
Have I seen a difference in those 9 months? Yes, I actually can!
And strangely it made me think of the parallels with my Thrive Programme, my 8 month Business Support programme for Owners. I am like your personal trainer!! Teaching you, supporting you, encouraging you, keeping you on track, and helping you get results… except your results will have far more wider-reaching benefits!!
And here endeth my thought for the day as I need to get to this morning’s session before working on someone’s funding model!!… but if you are thinking a ‘Nursery personal trainer’ may be what you need to keep you focused and on track, do drop me a message about 1:1 coaching or joining this September’s cohort of Thrive…. and if you don’t know what Thrive is, then that’s another post…
